An adventure among the wildest peaks of the Balkans
The 3-day tour of the Albanian Alps is a total immersion in a world of unspoiled nature, authentic hospitality, breathtaking views, and deep-rooted traditions. You will cross Lake Koman, swim in the Shala River, sleep in a remote village like Valbona, and finally walk through the mountains until you reach the mystical Theth.
Day 1 - Boating and river nature
Departure: Koman ferry terminal
Boating on Lake Koman to the mouth of the Shala River
Approximately 4-hour stop: swimming, lunch at a local guesthouse (optional), free time
Continue by boat to Fierza
Transfer by car to Valbona
Overnight stay in a traditional guesthouse
Day 2 - Trekking Valbona - Theth (optional)
Breakfast at the guesthouse
Option to go on a 6-8-hour trek between Valbona and Theth with an optional guide (Transportation by vehicle is also available for those who do not wish to walk)
Scenic break along the way (natural springs, mountain passes, villages)
Arrival and overnight stay in Theth in a traditional guesthouse
Day 3 - Return and local culture
Visit to the symbolic sites of Theth: Tower of Reconciliation, Church of Theth, Grunas waterfalls and canyon
Return by car/minibus to Shkodër or Tirana (on request)
End of the tour in the afternoon
Entrance ticket to the Isolation Tower Museum in Theth not included. Activities on the Shala River not included.
Available on Mondays and Thursdays from May 15 to October 15. Tour difficulty level 6 out of 10, recommended for ages 14 to 60, with a propensity for exploration and moderate physical activity.

Local tip
Bring hiking or sports shoes, comfortable clothing (layers for the mountains), a light backpack, a reusable water bottle, a swimsuit and towel, personal documents, and cash.
If you are not used to walking in the mountains, you can skip the trek and reach Theth by car for an additional fee. The important thing is not to miss out on the experience.
